I am a 44 year old creative type, resisting mediocrity with a passion for outsider-thinking and creative problem resolution.

Experience

Jack of All Trades, 2000-Present

For over a decade I have worked for myself as an artist, concentrating in: drawing, painting, graphic design, web design, sign-making, sculpture and theatrical design and production.   When not making art I serve as a home improvement specialist, renovating homes and properties in Forsyth and Stokes counties.

Design and production manager, Dsl global Event marketing, 1997-2000

Duties included designing and producing conceptual renderings of promotional properties for existing and prospective clients, working with production vendors to insure quality control and working with client to meet production goals.  I began work with this company as a traveling emcee/demonstrator of the trading card game Pokemon™, where it was my duty to fly to destination, locate event site, assist site evaluation and property build, and train children in playing the game through interactive demonstrations.  We routinely performed for 5-10 thousand “trainers” in a weekend event.

It was my job to create attractive designs and to create color separations for screen printing using industry standard software.  I was required to be competent in custom ink mixing for PMS color matching, creating complex 4 color process builds and assisting in every part of the production process.

Art director, east bay services 1992-1995

My main responsibility was to design holiday-themed light displays and to produce illustrations, working prototypes and computer animations for the sales dept.  It was my responsibility to produce construction patterns, to assist in site evaluation and event mapping as well as assisting in all phases of construction and installation. Another part of my job was to design and produce scale models of custom stage risers for musical theatre.

Skills

I have assembled a wide range of skills since entering the workforce,  I have Apprenticed under world-class artist  Armand DeNavarre, and accomplished Luthier St. Wishnevsky.  I have painted dozens of signs and murals, produced hundreds of paintings and sculptures and thousands of pieces of graphic art.  I am competent in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and many other industry standard computer applications.  I am an accomplished musician and songwriter having produced four albums of original material and have taught myself to play guitar, drums and bass guitar.  I am an aspiring furniture maker and luthier and am competent using all standard woodworking tools as well as being an experienced fabricator and welder.  As a father of two, I am proficient at hide ‘an seek, piggy-back rides, family outings and gluten-free baking.
